Lucid Motors has announced a reduction in prices for two of its electric vehicles, bringing them below the $100,000 mark. The company shared this news in a press release, stating that it is reinstating the “original pricing across the full air lineup.” The new base prices, available while supplies last, are as follows: $125,600 for the Air Grand Touring (previously $154,000), $95,000 for the Air Touring (previously $107,400), and $82,400 for the Air Pure (previously $87,400).
It’s worth noting that the new pricing only applies to the all-wheel drive version of the Lucid Air Pure, which is listed at $82,900. The rear-wheel drive version will be available in September 2023, according to the company’s website.
Interestingly, Lucid Motors tweeted about the new prices without explicitly mentioning the price reduction. Instead, the company highlighted its new leasing terms, which are valid until the end of August.
This marks Lucid Motors’ first price drop, excluding a $7,500 “tax credit” it introduced earlier this year following Tesla’s price cuts. Lucid had raised its prices in May last year as it encountered production challenges and financial losses. However, the company recently stated that it has made progress in ramping up production, aiming to meet its goal of manufacturing 20,000 vehicles by 2022.
Overall, this price reduction is expected to boost sales for Lucid Motors and make their electric vehicles more accessible to a wider range of consumers.
