Omega Seiki Mobility to invest $25m in first EV assembly plant at Dubai’s Jafza

Homegrown electric vehicle manufacturer Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM), on Wednesday, announced it will invest $25 million (AED 92 million) over the next five years to set up its first international electric vehicle assembly plant in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza). The 42,000+ square foot facility will start assembly by the end of 2025.

The plant will assemble OSM’s electric two- and three-wheelers, manage storage and distribution of auto components and spare parts, and create more than 100 jobs in its initial phase. It will serve export markets across the Middle East and Africa, strengthening UAE-India trade in clean technology.

Abdulla Al Hashmi, COO, Parks & Zones, DP World GCC, said: “More manufacturers are turning to Jafza to tap high-growth markets across the Middle East, Africa and beyond. With the MENA EV market projected to reach $14.5 billion by 2029… this facility brings innovative mobility solutions closer to the region and underlines Dubai’s role as a global hub for the automotive sector.”

Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility, said, “This launch is a proud moment for us and fitting that it comes on Indian Independence Day. Through Dubai, we aim to make clean mobility accessible and commercially viable for partners across the Middle East and Africa.”

While focusing on electric vehicles, OSM will also introduce CNG-powered models for select African markets, saying CNG can serve as a clean-fuel bridge until EV infrastructure matures. The company said the Jafza plant will serve as its global launchpad for clean transport solutions.

OSM’s line-up includes the OSM Rage+ cargo three-wheeler and OSM Stream passenger three-wheeler, with a range of up to 270 km, fast-charging and battery-swapping options, and IoT-enabled tracking for fleet optimisation. The company claims to have sold more than 20,000 vehicles in India through over 160 dealerships and holds certifications from ICAT and ARAI.
